Joshua Wong to fly to Berlin this afternoon after Magistrate rectified his bail document

9th September 2019 – (Hong Kong) After returning from Taiwan to meet the local politicians recently, Joshua Wong was arrested by plain clothes police officers yesterday morning at 8am at Hong Kong International Airport for allegedly violating his bail conditions. He was supposed to depart to Berlin, Germany. Joshua’s defence lawyer then told the judge at Eastern Magistrates’ Courts this morning that he did not realise the Principal Magistrate had erred in the departure dates in the bail document.

The Magistrate accepted Joshua’s apology that he did not intentionally violate the bail conditions yesterday. A new bail document has since been issued to Joshua to allow him to leave for Berlin this afternoon.
