6th June 2026 – (Hong Kong) Hong Kong’s first JD Mall is set to open on 18th June in Wan Chai, bringing an immersive, try‑before‑you‑buy retail concept that lets shoppers road‑test everything from gaming rigs to coffee machines. Among the quirkiest touches is a smart‑bathroom showcase where lids on intelligent toilets spring open with a simple foot wave, while sinks and shower sets are plumbed in for live demos.

Spanning more than 30,000 square feet across the entire second floor of Wan Chai’s Harbour Centre, the flagship greets visitors with a giant robotic hand installation and a corridor of smart‑tech retail, including household robots and drones. A Hong Kong‑made zone spotlights local innovation, and QR code shopping speeds up checkout for those who prefer to scan and go.
The esports arena features 10 PCs so customers can trial games and compare peripherals side by side. For the home, a hands‑on coffee counter invites shoppers to pull shots and test brewers before deciding what to buy, putting brand differences under the spotlight in real time.
At launch, selected major appliances and gadgets will be discounted by up to 50 per cent, with headline deals spanning Toshiba front‑load washing machines, Hitachi refrigerators and Rotai neck massagers. The store’s wider line‑up covers large home appliances, smart devices and photography equipment from multiple international brands, with all display units powered and ready to test.
Logistics are baked into the pitch. JD Logistics will introduce a “deliver‑and‑install in one” service, promising same‑day drop‑off in as little as four hours for in‑store orders placed before 11am, with window air conditioners eligible for immediate installation upon delivery.
JD says Hong Kong is its first international landing pad for the JD Mall format, citing strong cross‑border demand from residents who have been travelling to Shenzhen to shop. Over the next three years, the company plans six to eight Hong Kong stores, prioritising districts such as Sha Tin, Mong Kok and Tuen Mun.
The group adds that its total investment in the city has already surpassed HK$35 billion across retail and logistics. Working with 1,000 brands, JD intends to establish more than 200 offline outlets in the same period, a push it says could create over 10,000 local jobs.
