8th December 2023 – (Gaza) The Israeli army arrested dozens of Palestinians during its incursion into the town of Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip, according to Palestinian sources. The arrests were made during a storming of residential neighbourhoods in the town, with eyewitnesses claiming that the Israeli soldiers deliberately stripped the detainees of their clothes during interrogations.
The Israeli army has confirmed the arrests, stating that its troops detained dozens of Palestinian activists during their incursion into the Gaza Strip. The army has not provided any further details on the arrests or the identities of those detained.
The incident comes as tensions between Israel and Hamas continue to escalate, following a surprise attack by Hamas on Israel on 7th October. In response, Israel has launched massive airstrikes and a ground offensive in Gaza, leading to the deaths of several Palestinian militants and civilians.
Hamas has not yet commented on the Israeli claim that Abdel Aziz Al-Rantisi, the head of Hamas’ military intelligence responsible for all reconnaissance operations in the Gaza Strip, was killed by an Israeli combat aircraft a few days ago.
