Irish man collapses in Wan Chai Burlington Hotel, pronounced dead after a day in hospital

2nd March 2024 – (Hong Kong) A male guest staying at the Burlington Hotel on 55 Hennessy Road in Wan Chai, Hong Kong, was found unconscious in his room by hotel staff on Tuesday afternoon, February 27th. He was immediately rushed to the hospital by an ambulance, but unfortunately, his condition did not improve. After a day of medical treatment, he was declared dead at 12.13am on Thursday, 29th February.

The deceased individual has been identified as a 73-year-old Irish man who had been residing at the hotel since August of last year. According to reports, the man was overweight. On the day of the incident, he had requested room service but received no response when the staff came to his door. The hotel staff then used a spare key to enter the room and discovered the distressing scene.
