11th July 2024 – (Hong Kong) A male police officer from the district accidentally discharged a round while loading a revolver in the designated area at the Ngau Tau Kok Police Station. The incident occurred yesterday (10th) and resulted in the firing of a single bullet. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the case has been classified as an “officer’s accidental discharge.”
Records indicate previous occurrences of accidental firearm discharges by police officers. On 13th November, 2023, at 3.45pm, a male officer stationed at the Airport Police Station, located at 8 Catering Road West, Chek Lap Kok, experienced an unintended discharge while handling his holstered firearm. Similar to the recent incident, no injuries were sustained during that event.
