7th June 2023 – (Hong Kong) A 29-year-old Indian woman, who was arrested in connection with the murder case of three children in Kweilin Street, Sham Shui Po, has been charged with three counts of murder. The case will be brought before the Kowloon City Magistrates’ Courts this morning. According to reports from the scene, the female suspect has been transferred to Castle Peak Hospital for treatment and she was absent from the court appearance today. The judge has granted the prosecution’s application to adjourn the case until 12th June, during which time the 29-year-old Indian defendant, UR REHMAN AAMINA, who is facing three charges of murder, will be in police custody. If the defendant’s health condition permits, she may appear in court for questioning at an earlier date.
It is reported that the woman had become emotionally unstable after giving birth to her youngest daughter, and combined with her marital problems and separation from her husband, she did not want her three daughters to be taken care of by others. Therefore, she allegedly committed the heinous crime of killing her own children. After the incident, she called her mother in Kam Tin, Yuen Long, and told her that she had killed someone. Her mother then asked her younger daughter to report the incident to the police, suspecting that her elder daughter was having a mental breakdown and had a propensity for violence. She was worried that the three children in the house would be in danger, leading to this tragic incident. After the investigation, the woman was arrested on suspicion of “murder” and was later taken away for further questioning with her head covered by a black cloth.
