Indian man robbed of HK$5,000 by two compatriots in Yau Ma Tei alley


25th April 2024 – (Hong Kong)  Around 11pm yesterday (24th), a male Indian man in his twenties, carrying a recognizance paper, was relieving himself in an alley across from Kwun Chung Market and Cooked Food Centre at 17 Bowring Street in Yau Ma Tei. Suddenly, two fellow countrymen sprang upon him, grabbing his neck and forcibly taking away HK$5,000 in cash before fleeing the scene. The victim did not sustain any injuries and promptly reported the incident to the authorities. Law enforcement personnel arrived at the scene and, following an investigation, classified the case as a “robbery,” although no arrests have been made thus far.
