Immigration Department and other enforcement officials carry out joint operation to crack down on illegal labour, 3 including wanted person arrested

23rd March 2023 – (Hong Kong) On 22nd March, the Immigration Department, Airport Authority and law enforcement agencies carried out a joint operation, codenamed “Champion,” to crack down on illegal labour in multiple locations in the southern district of the New Territories.

During the operation, three men were arrested in a building on Hing Fong Road in Kwai Chung, including a 68-year-old man suspected of “employing illegal workers,” a 64-year-old mainland Chinese man with a double-entry permit suspected of “violating the conditions of stay,” and a 54-year-old mainland Chinese man. After investigation, it is believed that the 54-year-old man is also a wanted person. All individuals are currently being detained for further investigation and will be followed up by the relevant departments later.
