Protest will be held at Customer Service Centre of New Town Plaza at 8pm tonight if the management fails to respond 6pm as to why police were allowed to storm into the mall on Sunday

16th July 2019 – (Hong Kong) Many riot police stormed into New Town Plaza in Sha Tin after the anti-extradition march on last Sunday. The mall management was questioned by hundreds of civilians and residents living in the apartment above the mall yesterday but they failed to receive satisfactory answers from them.

After discussion amongst themselves, the civilians and residents demanded the management to reply by 6pm tonight or they will start to protest at the Customer Service Centre at 8pm tonight.

According to sources, Lam Cheuk-ting, the chief executive of Democratic Party and a Legislative Councillor attempted to call the senior management of Sun Hung Kai Properties which owns New Town Plaza but he hanged up on Lam during the phone call.

According to our report yesterday, a check on its title deed shows that ‘the Commissioner of Police and his officers shall be allowed uninterrupted access in the pursuance of their lawful duties’. Similar terms can be found in the title deeds of Shatin Plaza, Lucky Plaza and Shatin Centre.
