ICAC extends enforcement action, targets football players involved in corruption


29th May 2024 – (Hong Kong) Hong Kong’s Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) launched an operation last year, dismantling an illicit organised gambling and match-fixing syndicate. According to sources, following a thorough investigation, the ICAC recently initiated an extended enforcement action, targeting several players, including those from the Hong Kong Premier League teams.

At 5pm today (29th), the ICAC will hold a press conference at their headquarters in North Point, where the case officer will provide the media with detailed information on the ICAC’s efforts to combat football corruption.
