Hundreds of protesters gather in Causeway Bay, SOGO, HYSAN Place, Fashion Walk and Landmark Central closed for business


15th September 2019 – (Hong Kong) Hundreds of protesters gathered on East Point Road in Causeway Bay at around 2pm today despite police ban on the assembly organised by Civil Human Rights Front in conjunction with the International Day of Democracy. Many were seen waving the American flags.

Protesters occupied Yee Wo Street at 2.20pm. The entire road was sealed off at 2.30pm.

Riot police were already at standby at most Causeway Bay MTR Station exits at around 2pm.

Meanwhile, SOGO Departmental Store, Hysan Place and Fashion Walk suspended their business at 2pm due to safety concerns. Landmark Central also closed at 1pm.

At 2.32pm, many riot police officers were seen at Admiralty MTR Station.
