Hongkonger tested positive for novel coronavirus, total cases increase to 6 (Updated)


26th January 2020 – (Hong Kong) A Hongkonger who has developed symptom of fever after travelling to Wuhan recently has been tested positive for novel coronavirus today. He was transferred from Ruttonjee Hospital to Princess Margaret Hospital to be treated in an isolated ward today. Total cases in Hong Kong have increased to 6 and the patient is the second Hongkonger to be infected with the virus.

The patient is a 47-year-old local man who worked in Wuhan. He took the high-speed train no G1035 back to Shenzhen before taking G407 train back to West Kowloon Station in Hong Kong on 23rd January. He developed fever on 20th January and sought medical help at the local hospital in Wuhan. Centre for Health Protection is now tracking his wife and daughter in order to put them under medical observation.
