29th March 2023 – (Hong Kong) Hong Kong has claimed the top spot in the Best Public Transport category, according to the Urban Mobility Readiness Index report by Oliver Wyman Forum. The city ranked number one among 60 global cities while Singapore came in fourth. The report, created by the Oliver Wyman Forum and the University of California, Berkeley, aims to evaluate the urban mobility readiness of cities worldwide.
The ranking was based on four categories: best public transport, future mobility readiness, innovative mobility solutions and social impact. Hong Kong’s top ranking in the public transport category is due to its extensive and efficient public transport system, which includes buses, trains, trams and ferries.

The report noted that Hong Kong has a high density of public transport options.
