Hong Kong stock market narrows afternoon decline by 111 points


27th November 2023 – (Hong Kong) Hong Kong’s stock market experienced a slight recovery in the afternoon session, narrowing its earlier losses. The latest report reveals that the Hang Seng Index dropped 111 points, closing at 17,448 points, while the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index fell by 48 points, settling at 5,992 points. Additionally, the Hang Seng Tech Index reported a decline of 17 points, reaching 4,006 points. Notable stock movements included New World Development (0017) experiencing a 7% drop, CG Services (6098) declining by 6%, and Longfor Group Holdings (0960) recording a 4.6% decrease.

Last Friday (24th), the U.S. stock market had a half-day session, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) rising by 117 points, indicating positive momentum for technology stocks. Meanwhile, Asian markets displayed diverse trends today (27th), with the Japanese stock market slightly down and the South Korean stock market showing slight gains. In the commodity market, oil and gold prices remained relatively stable during Asian trading hours, with no significant fluctuations observed.
