Hong Kong Songkran Festival 2024 to be held in Lai Chi Kok in April


29th March 2024 – (Hong Kong) To celebrate the traditional Thai festival, the “Songkran Festival,” Lai Chi Kok will hold the “Hong Kong Songkran Festival 2024” in April. The most exciting water splashing event, the “Thrilling Fun Water Battle Party,” will take place on 6th April in Cheung Yee Street. Participants are encouraged to bring their water guns and buckets to engage in exhilarating water battles. Additionally, the festival will offer Thai massage experiences, Thai dance performances, and feature 30 food and game carnival booths, as well as cultural stage performances. D2 Place will come alive with a series of Thai-themed activities.

This year’s Hong Kong Songkran Festival will showcase various Thai-themed activities, including Thai massage experiences and Thai dance performances. Moreover, Hong Kong and Thai boxing champions will engage in street boxing performances, showcasing ancient Muay Thai boxing and ceremonial dances. The event will also feature 30 food and game carnival booths. Notably, there will be the “Miss Hong Kong Songkran Festival” beauty pageant and “Hong Kong Songkran Festival Baby” contest. The festival will include vibrant parades featuring local Thai residents, Thai community groups, local ethnic minorities, and organizational teams.

Within D2 Place, a Thai-themed market will gather a wide array of Thai snacks, daily necessities, clothing, handicrafts, and speciality products. Visitors can also explore the Thai travel fair held concurrently, providing information on Thai tourism. By participating in lucky draws, attendees will have the chance to win air tickets to Bangkok, Chiang Mai, or Phuket, as well as Pattaya villas, Thai SIM cards, snacks, daily necessities, and more. As for food, numerous Thai restaurants will offer must-try dishes such as Thai skewers, Tom Yum soup noodles, pandan bread, Thai milk tea, desserts, and mango sticky rice.
