Hong Kong pro-democracy comedian and actor Chapman To’s ‘Stand Up Hong Kong’ talk show kicked off yesterday

6th November 2020 – (Hong Kong) Hong Kong pro-democracy comedian and actor Chapman To’s ‘Stand Up Hong Kong’ talk show was held yesterday night at Kowloon Bay International Trade & Exhibition Centre. Tickets for 6 shows were sold out but the government stipulated that only 50% of the seats can be occupied and 6 more shows were added as a result.

After that, the seating capacity was relaxed to 75% and all of the tickets were successfully sold. Chapman To has been training hard on his body to perform this talk show. Some audience even lined up one hour earlier to enter the venue. Many pro-democracy local celebrities including Tommy Yuen Man On, Wong He, Gregory Wong who was charged for participating in the 1st July Legislative Council building riot last year, etc attended the show on the opening night. Tanya Chan,  founding member of the Civic Party was also present.


Before the start of the show, a video clip featuring Anthony Wong (veteran celebrity who has been very vocal against the Hong Kong government) as a tutor was broadcast live, and To’s wife Kristal Tin was in charge of the production.
