Hong Kong Police Force launches online applications platform for permit services

27th November 2023 – (Hong Kong) The Hong Kong Police Force has introduced the Hong Kong Police Force Online Applications Platform (https://www.es.police.gov.hk) on 27th November. In its initial phase, the platform offers convenient online application services for Closed Area Permits, Road Event Permits, and Location Filming permits. This one-stop online platform enables the public to submit permit applications, make online payments, and track the progress of their applications.

Starting from 1st December, the platform will also facilitate applications for the Electronic Tourism Closed Area Permit, aligning with the second phase of the Sha Tau Kok opening-up plan scheduled to commence in January 2024.

By utilizing the new platform, individuals can apply for various services online, eliminating the need for physical queues and handwritten forms. Users can access the platform with a single account, simplifying the registration and login processes. Multiple registration and login methods, including email, local mobile phone numbers, iAM Smart, and iAM Smart+, ensure a secure, convenient, and swift experience. Furthermore, the platform enhances user convenience by automatically filling out most parts of the form based on registered information, minimizing repetitive data entry. After submitting an application online, applicants can track the latest progress directly through the platform. Supplementary documents can also be uploaded if required. In case of any registration, login, or form filling issues, a 24-hour support hotline (8226 1886) is available to assist the public.

The launch of the online applications platform fulfils the commitment made in the Policy Address to fully digitise all licenses, services, and application-related forms by mid-2024. It also aligns with the Hong Kong Police Force’s introduction of measures such as the Electronic Closed Area Permit and Electronic Closed Road Permit at the end of this year.

In the future, the platform will gradually introduce various electronic services provided by the Hong Kong Police Force. These services may include applying for a Sexual Conviction Record Check, obtaining a Certificate of No Criminal Conviction, checking Criminal Conviction Record Data, and applying for assistance in conducting academic research, among others. The aim is to deliver a more convenient service experience to the public.
