Rainstorm Warning Signal downgraded to Amber and subsequently cancelled at 11.45pm by Hong Kong Observatory (Updated: 11.55pm)

15th September 2023 – (Hong Kong) The Hong Kong Observatory has officially downgraded the Red Rainstorm Warning Signal to an Amber Rainstorm Warning Signal, effective from 10pm. At 11.45pm, Amber Rainstorm Warning Signal was cancelled.

As a result of the ongoing heavy rain, certain low-lying and poorly drained areas are likely to experience flooding. Individuals who reside in or frequent these areas should take necessary precautions to minimise their exposure to the potential risks associated with heavy rain and flooding.

Additionally, it has been announced that the Thunderstorm Warning, initially issued at 1.45pm today has been extended until 3am the following day. Hong Kong is expected to encounter a few squally thunderstorms during this period.
