9th August 2023 – (Hong Kong) The highly anticipated annual Hong Kong Food Expo, known for its gastronomic delights, is set to commence next Thursday, the 17th of August, and will run for five consecutive days at the Wan Chai Convention and Exhibition Centre. This year’s event will also feature concurrent trade exhibitions including HKTDC Home Delights Expo, HKTDC Beauty & Wellness Expo, etc. With over 1,700 exhibitors expected to participate, the Food Expo aims to attract a larger audience compared to previous years, thanks to the recent opening of the MTR Exhibition Centre Station and the distribution of consumer vouchers by the government. Many exhibitors anticipate a significant increase in footfall and business volume, estimated to rise by approximately 20 to 30 percent.

The Food Expo 2023 will showcase a “Public Hall” and an exclusive “Gourmet Zone,” offering a wide array of delectable cuisines and culinary options from around the world. This year, the event introduces the captivating theme of “Fine Wines & Spirits,” featuring exquisite wines and spirits from various regions, along with a dedicated “Taste of Korea” section. Furthermore, the newly launched Food Trade Expo and Hong Kong International Tea Fair will open exclusively to buyers for the first two days, followed by simultaneous access for the general public and trade buyers on the final day, the 19th of August.

For the attending public, the allure of discounted products offered by exhibitors remains a major attraction. This year, an extensive range of items will be available for just HK$1, including canned abalone, ‘Buddha Jumps Over the Wall’ soup and thinly sliced Angus beef, with the most affordable item being a chicken hotpot pack priced at HK$0.1.

In addition to food products, a tea machine originally priced at nearly HK$1,800 will be sold at a special price of HK$1, while daily limits will be imposed on the sale of food items and products, guaranteeing brisk purchases by eager attendees from the moment the expo opens.

This year’s exhibitors have also introduced a variety of unique delicacies and food offerings. These include Icelandic cheese, canned cakes handmade with 100% care, cocktail popsicles from the Netherlands, and organic collagen gelatin from Korea. Notably, there will also be locally made Italian-style gelato infused with black truffles.

The Hong Kong Food Expo 2023 will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, located at 1 Expo Drive, Wan Chai, from the 17th to the 21st of August. Tickets will be available for purchase, and admission is open to the public. Children aged 3 or below and seniors aged 65 or above will be granted free entry. Kindly note that entry to the venue will not be permitted 45 minutes before the official daily closing time of the exhibition.
