2nd September 2026 – (Hong Kong) Hong Kong will mark National Day on 1st October with a 23‑minute fireworks display over Victoria Harbour themed Eternal Radiance, coordinated by the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau and exclusively sponsored by Sun Life Hong Kong. The show is budgeted at about HK$18 million and is set to begin at 8.00pm. It will launch 31,888 shells from nine firing points using three barges and six pontoons, creating eight choreographed scenes across the harbour.
Sun Life Hong Kong’s chief executive, Clement Lam, has positioned the sponsorship as a contribution to a unifying citywide celebration and a showcase of Hong Kong’s vitality as an international hub. His role as CEO is publicly documented by the company.
Fireworks design and production will be led by Pyromagic Multi‑media Productions, headed by Wilson Mao Wai‑shing, a veteran responsible for many of the city’s major displays since the late 1990s. The company and Mao’s involvement in Hong Kong’s hallmark pyrotechnic events are detailed in official directories and the firm’s own records.
Authorities say the programme is intended to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, with extensive crowd management and transport coordination typical of major harbour events. The National Day fireworks arrangements and theme were confirmed by government and local media announcements on 2nd September.
