6th June 2023 – (Hong Kong) Hong Kong Customs intercepted a drug trafficking case at Hong Kong International Airport on 5th June and seized around 1.2 kilograms of suspected cannabis buds with an estimated market value of HK$240,000.
A male passenger, aged 32, arrived in Hong Kong from Bangkok, Thailand on the same day. Customs officers discovered 24 bags of suspected cannabis buds, weighing approximately 1.2kg, inside his checked-in suitcase and hand-carry baggage during customs clearance. Most of the drugs were hidden inside packaging for snacks, while the rest were concealed in different items. The officers subsequently arrested the man.
An investigation into the case is currently ongoing.
