Hong Kong Customs launches official account on Xiaohongshu

30th May 2024 – (Hong Kong) Hong Kong Customs has officially joined the popular social media platform Xiaohongshu. The new account, aptly named “Hong Kong Customs,” aims to share the multifaceted work and latest updates of the customs department through creative short videos, photos, and text illustrations.

This move comes as part of Hong Kong Customs’ ongoing efforts to expand its online presence and connect with a wider audience. With existing accounts on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Douyin, and WeChat, the addition of Xiaohongshu as its sixth official social media platform allows the customs department to disseminate information more quickly and directly to the public.

By leveraging Xiaohongshu’s features, Hong Kong Customs intends to deepen public understanding of its work and provide valuable information to Mainland travellers planning to visit Hong Kong. The platform’s popularity among users will enable the customs department to reach a broader demographic and share updates in a visually engaging manner.

To mark the launch of the official account, a promotional video featuring the Commissioner of Customs and Excise, Ms Louise Ho, has been produced and uploaded to Hong Kong Customs’ Xiaohongshu profile. This video serves as a prelude to the informative content that will be shared on the platform.

Members of the public are encouraged to visit, follow, and share Hong Kong Customs’ Xiaohongshu official account through hyperlinks or QR codes. By doing so, they can stay informed about the latest customs-related news, gain insights into the department’s work, and actively participate in discussions on the platform.
