Hong Kong Book Fair to be held as scheduled next month


11th June 2021 – (Hong Kong) The book fair was postponed many times in response to the epidemic last year, and the epidemic situation in Hong Kong has stabilised recently. According to the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the book fair will be held as scheduled next month. Details will be announced on the 24th of this month. It is expected that there will be 670 exhibitors, mainly local booksellers. Exhibitors arriving in Hong Kong from foreign countries must comply with government quarantine. Exhibitors are only allowed to participate under quarantine regulations, but no mandatory vaccination is required for exhibitors.

The number of people at this year’s book fair is expected to reach 60% to 70% in previous years.

The venue will also be disinfected and cleaned regularly to maintain hygiene and safety in the venue. Visitors will be required to wear masks and are not allowed to eat or drink. The maximum number of people required to comply with government regulations is 50% of the total capacity. Exhibitors will also be required to apply social distancing measures, and employees of exhibitors will also be advised to wear gloves. The Hong Kong Book Fair that was originally scheduled to be held from 15th to 21st July 15 last year but it was postponed due to the third wave of the epidemic and the book fair was postponed to December.

However, because Hong Kong entered the fourth wave of the epidemic, it decided to postpone the book fair again.
