Ho Chi Minh-bound Cathay Pacific flight returns to HK airport following suspected hydraulic system malfunction

11th June 2024 – (Hong Kong) At 9.56am local time, the fire department received a notification regarding a Cathay Pacific flight that required returning to Hong Kong International Airport. Firefighters were immediately dispatched and put on standby. The flight subsequently executed a safe landing on the northern runway of the airport, and there are no reports of injuries at this time.

The flight in question was headed from Hong Kong to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, identified as CX767. It took off at 9.08am this morning. The aircraft’s crew later discovered a suspected issue with the hydraulic system of the aircraft’s landing gear, prompting the decision to return to Hong Kong.
