14th March 2023 – (Hong Kong) The highly anticipated HKWALLS Festival is set to take place from 18th to 26th March, 2023, across Hong Kong’s Central & Western District. This marks the festival’s 8th edition and it promises to be a vibrant showcase of street art with an international flair.
For the first time since 2019, the festival will feature renowned international artists who will join their local counterparts in transforming ordinary walls into original works of art. These mural masters include the French artist Matthieu Koga, known for his satirical and metaphorical style, Czech illustrator Mára Cmára, who excels in digital colour painting; and Italian painter Zed1, renowned for his post-modern surrealism. The festival will offer a diverse range of styles that will collide in the streets, providing a fresh perspective to the urban landscape.

Alongside the artistic installations, HKwalls will also feature workshops, guided tours and artists talks across the city. Soho House will host a special exhibition showcasing past and present HKwalls artists, and the festival will culminate with the HKwalls x Chivas presents: I Rise We Rise Art Battle. This 90-minute event will feature two teams of artists battling it out in front of a live audience on the evening of March 26.
The HKWALLS Festival promises to be an exciting celebration of street art, uniting local and international artists to create a new dimension in the city’s vibrant cultural scene.
