HK veteran singer Alan Tam denies allegation that he has affair with girlfriend of Chinese netizen (Updated: 10.35pm)

24th November 2021 – (Hong Kong) A mainland netizen wrote a long article on social media with the nickname “Sad Beef Noodle” and stated that a 71-year-old Hong Kong male artist had an affair with the netizen’s girlfriend who is suspected to be in her 20s, and his girlfriend is a fan of the male artist. He also tagged Alan Tam, the Hong Kong veteran singer and actor.

Alan Tam issued a statement via IMPACT ENTERTAINMENT on Weibo to refute the allegation.

In response, Universal Music said: “IMPACT ENTERTAINMENT (HONG KONG) LIMITED and Alan Tam are now taking legal action in handling the incident.”

Alan posted on Weibo this evening: “Someone posted on the media platform today about Mr. Alan Tam with false information and reports, IMPACT ENTERTAINMENT (HONG KONG) LIMITED and Tam strongly condemned and denied the incident.” The statement also mentioned: “As part of the the Hong Kong election committee of China, he will not sit back and allow actions that harm his personal image. He will definitely take appropriate legal actions to stop those interested in using the media to harm him and others.”

Alan Tam also clarified that he has been passionate about his work for the past few decades, supported his younger generations, and spared no effort to contribute to the country and society, and to his fans. After Alan Tam made a statement, the male netizen immediately released a new picture of a man who was changing pants in a hotel room but the his face was not shown.

Shortly after, anti-government Hong Kong singer Tommy Yuen shared a picture on his FACEBOOK page a picture of Alan Tam working out in the same pair of KELME sneakers.

Tam has launched a total of 115 solo albums and has sold over 35 million records worldwide. He also holds the record for having held the most concerts in Hong Kong as a solo artist. Tam wed Sally Yeung Kit-mei in 1981. They have no children. Tam met his partner Wendy Chu in 1991; a son was born to them in 1995.
