8th February 2023 – (Hong Kong) 2 men allegedly used the computer system of Hong Kong Express, illegally at the end of 2019 to steal the boarding account of Leung Chuen-yan, the son of former chief executive Leung Chun-ying. The two ordered extra meals and luggage storage services for the Leung’s family worth more than 3,000 Hong Kong dollars. One of them had pleaded guilty earlier and was sentenced to 80 hours of community service.
The remaining 22-year-old defendant was a Hong Kong Express outsourced ground crew member at the time. He pleaded guilty to dishonest use of computer, but denied the crime of obstructing justice. After trial, he was acquitted of the crime of obstructing justice in the Eastern District Court today (8th). However, he pleaded guilty to another charge, so the case was adjourned for sentencing on 22nd February, while his community service order report is pending.
