HK Education Bureau announces reduction in door-knocking places and class size adjustment to improve education quality for Primary One students

30th May 2023 – (Hong Kong) The results of this year’s Primary One Admission (POA) will be announced on 7th June. In preparation for the new school year, the Education Bureau has issued a notice to primary schools, stating that all government primary schools will reduce the number of door-knocking places starting this year and adjust the class size to improve the quality of education. Beginning in the 2023/24 school year, the number of door-knocking places for subsidised primary schools with 25 students per class will be reduced from 2 to 1, while those with 30 students per class will be reduced from 3 to 2.
