HK actress Carina Lau celebrates sister-in-law’s birthday in the presence of her vivacious mother


    13th January 2021 – (Hong Kong) Veteran Hong Kong actress, Carina Lau, 55, posted a photo of her sister-in-law Laura’s birthday on 11th January with her family members but her husband Tony Leung, also an actor was missing. She revealed that Tony is busy promoting his new movie and it will take a long time to return due to quarantine measures.

    She wrote, “It’s cold and my heart is warm. I thank my family.” In addition, her 72-year-old mother who appeared in red top also looks young. Standing next to Carina is her nephew who is said to be a top student. He graduated from the University of Nottingham, majoring in architecture. After graduation, Carina specially flew abroad to attend his graduation ceremony.     Carina Lau Kar-ling is a Hong Kong actress and singer. She started her acting career in TVB, before going on to achieve success in films after 2nd year at the college. She was especially notable in the 1980s for her girl-next-door type roles in films. She also plays Empress Wu Zetian in Tsui Hark‘s Detective Dee films, starting with Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame in 2010. She has won Best Actress awards at Hong Kong Film Award and Mainland China’s Golden Rooster Awards, and nominated at Cannes Film Festival and Taiwan’s Golden Horse Awards.

    Her husband is Hong Kong actor Tony Leung Chiu-wai. Lau frequently appears in the Hong Kong fashion scene, and is a patron of many charities.
