Health Bureau officer tests positive for COVID-19 while Secretary for Health tests negative

15th August 2022 – (Hong Kong) A spokesman for the Health Bureau today said a staff member of the Bureau had tested positive for COVID-19 through a rapid antigen test.  The officer is the Administrative Assistant to the Secretary for Health. He wore masks and followed relevant disease prevention measures at work. He has no recent travel history and last went to work on 9th August. The Secretary for Health, Professor Lo Chung-mau, has been taking COVID-19 rapid tests every day and the results are all negative.

The Health Bureau has conducted thorough cleaning and disinfection operations at the relevant offices, and has arranged for relevant staff members to undergo COVID-19 tests after consultation with the Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health.
