26th May 2024 – (Gaza) The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, made a startling announcement on Sunday, asserting that they had successfully captured an undisclosed number of Israeli soldiers during an operation in the Jabalia camp situated in the northern Gaza Strip.

In a statement issued by Al-Qassam Brigades spokesman Abu Ubaida, he revealed the details of the operation, stating that their fighters executed a meticulously planned manoeuvre on Saturday afternoon. The Israeli force was enticed into one of the tunnels within the Jabalia camp, where a close-range clash ensued, resulting in the elimination, capture, and injury of all its members.

To reinforce their claim, Hamas released a video clip showcasing an individual being forcibly dragged through a tunnel, purportedly an Israeli soldier. However, it is important to note that the authenticity of this footage has not been independently verified.

Furthermore, the video presented a collection of weaponry and equipment, allegedly belonging to the Israeli soldiers involved in the operation.

Responding to Hamas’ announcement, Israeli army spokesman Avichai Adraee swiftly dismissed the claim, stating that there was no incident of a soldier being kidnapped in Gaza.
