‘Frozen 2’ takes over the number 1 spot as the highest-grossing box office animated movie on opening day in Hong Kong

26th November 2019 – (Hong Kong) It’s been six years since the first Frozen became a worldwide phenomenon, so a sequel always felt inevitable as no one could Let It Go. The movie was premiered in Hong Kong on 23rd November and the opening day box office grossed over HK$5m. It broke the record of Minions and became the first highest grossing box office animated movie on opening day in Hong Kong.

According to Digital spyFrozen 2 will satisfy fans of the original as it offers big laughs and even bigger songs, and if it doesn’t quite match the original, it comes very, very close. Set three years after the first movie, Frozen 2 reunites us with Anna (Kristen Bell) and Elsa (Idina Menzel) as a mysterious voice starts calling to Elsa.

With Arendelle’s future threatened, Anna and Elsa must head on a dangerous mission with Kristoff (Jonathan Groff), Olaf (Josh Gad) and Sven to the enchanted forest.

They hope to discover why Elsa is being drawn to the forest and unlock the mystery of why Elsa was born with magical powers.

Even if you’ve never seen Frozen, you’ll have heard ‘Let It Go’, so it’s no surprise that people were expecting something similar in Frozen 2. The songs this time around are a more consistent bunch, but it’s hard to predict which one will be the break-out as the quality level is high throughout.
