29th September 2023 – (Hong Kong) Jeffrey Ngai, a promising young talent in Hong Kong, has recently released his highly anticipated single titled “Before Sunset.” The accompanying music video, filmed in the enchanting city of Paris, tells the inspiring story of a young individual’s pursuit of dreams in the City of Light. The Consulate General of France, captivated by the production, took to their official social media platform to describe Jeffrey as a “Wonderkid.” They also shared Victor Hugo’s words from Les Misérables, inviting everyone to “Respirer Paris, cela conserve l’âme” (breathe Paris in, it nourishes the soul).

To mark the release of the music video, Madame Christile Drulhe, the French consul general, hosted a viewing event at the French residence. Impressed by Jeffrey’s musical and acting talents, Madame Drulhe commended him for his skills and praised his choice of Paris, often regarded as the most romantic city in the world, as the backdrop for his music video.

Madame Drulhe expressed her admiration, stating, “The ‘Before Sunset’ music video not only showcases the magnificent landmarks and scenery of Paris but also tells the story of a determined young soul pursuing his passion and aspirations. I believe this resonates with many individuals. I am truly impressed by Jeffrey’s talent and dedication as a self-financed musician. Today marks the beginning of what I believe will be a wonderful collaboration between us. We were delighted to host him in Paris, one of the most romantic cities in the world. I encourage everyone in Hong Kong to follow Jeffrey’s footsteps and explore the City of Light for leisure, studies, or even sports, as Paris will be hosting the 2024 Summer Olympics.”

As the Mid-Autumn Festival approached, Jeffrey presented Madame Drulhe and her team with Eiffel Tower-themed mooncakes inscribed with “Before Sunset” in Chinese. In return, Madame Drulhe offered Jeffrey Ngai the opportunity to study the French language at Alliance Française Hong Kong, marking the conclusion of this delightful cultural event.
