Francesco Bagnaia clinches Dutch Motorcycle Grand Prix double as Jorge Martin secures second place

30th June 2024 – (Assen) Francesco Bagnaia, the two-time MotoGP champion representing Ducati, showcased his exceptional skills as he dominated the Dutch Motorcycle Grand Prix from start to finish, securing a weekend double victory. Meanwhile, championship leader Jorge Martin put up a commendable performance, claiming second place in Sunday’s race.

Throughout the practice and qualifying sessions held at TT Assen, Bagnaia demonstrated his prowess, establishing his dominance and leaving little room for his competitors. Despite Martin’s valiant efforts, the reigning MotoGP champion remained in control right from the start.

Martin encountered a setback in qualifying, receiving a three-place grid penalty for impeding Raul Fernandez. Consequently, he began the race from the fifth position instead of his initial second-place starting position. However, Martin exhibited exceptional skill and determination, manoeuvring his way up the ranks to secure a well-deserved second-place finish.

Completing the impressive all-Ducati podium, Enea Bastianini secured the third spot, further highlighting the team’s outstanding performance in the Dutch Grand Prix.

Bagnaia’s back-to-back wins not only solidify his position as a force to be reckoned with in the MotoGP championship but also serve as a testament to his exceptional riding abilities. As the season progresses, fans eagerly await the intense battles that will unfold on the track, as these talented riders continue to push the boundaries of motorcycling excellence.
