2nd April 2024 – (Hong Kong) In 2015, Monnie Li participated in the Miss Hong Kong pageant, capturing attention as the daughter of a noodle stall owner in Yuen Long. However, despite the initial popularity, she failed to make it to the finals, leading her to explore opportunities in the entertainment industry.

Amidst the challenging times faced by various businesses in Hong Kong, including the food and beverage industry, Monnie Li recently took to social media to announce the closure of her family’s noodle stall after 20 years of operation. During the pandemic, Li had previously discussed the hardships her family faced while running the noodle stall, and in 2021, the business even faced legal issues related to rental disputes, which deeply affected her emotionally.

Accompanying her announcement, Monnie Li shared several photos taken inside the noodle stall, reminiscing about her journey. She expressed, “I am no longer the ‘Beef Offal Girl’. We will close our stall for the final time on April 8, 2024. Twenty years ago, I gained an additional identity, and nine years ago, because of this identity, I embarked on a career I had always dreamed of. Today, I experience both happiness and confusion. Looking back, I am filled with gratitude.”

April 1, 2024, coincided with April Fool’s Day, but Li assured her followers that her announcement was not a joke. She explained, “I want to inform everyone in a lighter tone that my ‘home’ will be taking a break, and my parents will also retire and enjoy their lives. We have one more week left, and if anyone has the time, please come and show your support, visit my parents. I hope that in the future, there will still be opportunities for me to create a gathering place for everyone. Thank you to everyone who has supported us throughout the years.”
