3rd May 2025 – (Hong Kong) Elkie Chong, a former child star known for her roles in various TVB dramas, recently revealed on Instagram that she was hospitalised due to carbon monoxide poisoning, alarming her fans. The 2016 K-pop debutant with the girl group CLC left the group in 2021 to pursue a career in mainland China, where she has since released solo music and participated in variety shows.

In a detailed post, Elkie recounted her frightening experience. She woke up feeling dizzy and had a headache, initially planning to take medication after using the restroom. However, she suddenly experienced blurred vision and collapsed. After being transported to the hospital, doctors confirmed that she had carbon monoxide poisoning, likely caused by a gas leak.

Elkie explained that the gas is odourless and silent, which made it difficult for her to recognise the danger until it was too late. Her carbon monoxide levels reached 20%, a significant figure compared to the normal range of 1-1.5%. Fortunately, after receiving hospital care and hyperbaric oxygen treatment, her condition stabilised, and she expressed gratitude for the support she received from friends.
