18th April 2024 – (Hong Kong) A video circulating on online platforms has captured a heart-stopping moment involving a schoolboy who narrowly avoided a potentially catastrophic accident while crossing a zebra crossing. The incident, which took place yesterday (17th) at approximately 3pm, unfolded at the zebra crossing outside the Hong Kong Red Cross John F. Kennedy Centre on Sandy Bay Road in Pok Fu Lam.

In the video footage, the young student can be seen waiting at the zebra crossing, seemingly unaware of the oncoming danger. Suddenly, he darts out onto the road, only to find himself in the path of an approaching four-wheel-drive Porsche with Hong Kong and Mainland China license plates. Realising the imminent danger, the boy manages to stop just in time by planting both feet firmly on the ground. However, the Porsche brushes against him, causing him to fall. The video concludes with the boy displaying a pained expression.

Following the incident, a 46-year-old female driver reported the collision to the authorities. Emergency responders swiftly arrived at the scene on Sandy Bay Road, where they found a 10-year-old foreign male student injured and lying by the roadside. The injured boy was later transported to Queen Mary Hospital for medical treatment.
