Foreign hiker suspected of bee sting injury in Sai Kung’s Ham Tin Wan, airlifted to hospital for treatment


10th June 2024 – (Hong Kong) During a solo hike along Section 2 of the MacLehose Trail in Sai Kung’s picturesque Ham Tin Wan, a 53-year-old foreign hiker encountered a potential bee sting injury on his left hand. Shortly after, he started experiencing discomfort but fortunately remained conscious throughout the ordeal.

Upon receiving the report, the law enforcement authorities sprang into action. The government’s Flying Service deployed a helicopter to the scene, ensuring the rapid evacuation of the injured hiker. The helicopter transported him to the Eastern District Hospital, where medical professionals were prepared to provide the necessary treatment and care.
