Foreign employee at HSBC Main Building in Central collapses during meeting, hospitalised in critical condition

30th May 2024- (Hong Kong) At the HSBC headquarters in Central this morning, a foreign employee collapsed and lost consciousness during a meeting. The incident took place at 11.23am today in an office located at 1 Queen’s Road Central in the HSBC Main Building. According to reports, colleagues immediately alerted authorities after witnessing the foreign male employee’s sudden collapse.

The 49-year-old individual was accompanied by colleagues as he was transported to Ruttonjee Hospital in an ambulance. At the time of transportation, he remained in a critical condition, necessitating the use of an automated external defibrillator for resuscitation. Subsequently, he was transferred to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital for further medical care. The employee is said to have fainted during the course of the meeting, although the exact cause of the incident remains under investigation by the police.
