4th October 2026 – (Florida) A Florida mother who was arrested after her estranged husband alleged she engaged in sexual activity with the family dog insists she has been framed and is seeking help with mounting legal expenses. Friends of 38‑year‑old Malia Elizabeth Nummerdor have launched an online appeal describing the accusation as untrue and saying the episode has upended the lives of Nummerdor and her two sons, leaving them displaced and facing immediate costs.
According to an arrest report from the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, Nummerdor was taken into custody on 15th September after her husband, Erik Nummerdor, told investigators he had installed security cameras at home and later found footage he believed showed criminal conduct. He provided detectives with a recording and access to a laptop said to contain the material. The report states that when questioned, Nummerdor appeared impaired and denied any sexual act, saying she had simply been lying beside and petting an elderly dog near its bed. Officers wrote that she struggled to give a consistent account when asked to describe her position and the dog’s placement.
Supporters say the fundraiser is intended to help the family manage immediate needs and secure experienced legal representation, stressing it is not an effort to adjudicate the facts. The organisers also note that Nummerdor has limited family support and is relying on close friends while the case proceeds. Early donations were modest, with only a small number of contributions reported shortly after the appeal went live.
Records show Nummerdor was booked into the Charlotte County Jail following her arrest and later released.
