Flight CX890 scheduled for New York delayed for more than 7 hours and 30 minutes


14th April 2019 – (Hong Kong) Cathay Pacific flight CX890 from Hong Kong to New York was delayed for 7 hours and 30 minutes on 12th April 2019. A local participant in the 2019 Boston Marathon couldn’t make it in time for the event on 15th April as a result of the flight delay.

Cathay Pacific spokesperson later announced that aircraft hull was found to have sustained minor damages and hence, a different aircraft was arranged to take over the flight. Precious time was lost because different cabin crew was re-assigned to the new flight. Cathay Pacific apologised to affected passengers for the inconvenience caused.
