7th June 2023 – (Hong Kong) Residents of Hill Road in the Western District of Hong Kong were awakened by the sound of fire engines this morning, as a blaze erupted in a unit on the 12th floor of the Cheung Fat Building at 7.34am today. Firefighters quickly responded to the scene, and after half an hour of intense firefighting, the flames were finally extinguished.
During the incident, around 10 floors of the building were evacuated to ensure everyone’s safety. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the fire department has determined that the cause of the fire was an electrical short circuit, ruling out any suspicion of arson.
