2nd February 2023 – (Hong Kong) At 11.38pm yesterday, a woman was withdrawing cash from Bank of China ATM at No. 152-158 Johnston Road, Wan Chai. She was suddenly assaulted by another woman who snatched HK$5,000 in cash away from her. A pedestrian who saw the incident tried to stop the woman and called the police.
Officers arrived at the scene and eventually found out that the relationship between the two women were actually of landlord and tenant. There was a dispute over the rent issue. During this period, the tenant attacked the landlord while she was withdrawing money, and snatched the cash in her hand. The case was temporarily classified as “robbery”, and the female tenant involved was taken away and detained for investigation.
