Female staff who works in the Police Personnel Department at Tsuen Wan Government Offices preliminarily tests positive for COVID-19

22nd January 2022 – (Hong Kong) The police said today (22nd) that a 32-year-old female civil servant who lives in Yat Kwai House and works at the Personnel Department preliminarily tested positive for COVID-19. The police said on socia media that the female staff had no travel history in the past 14 days. Her office is located in the Tsuen Wan Government Offices, she wore a mask during work and she last went to work on this Thursday (20th).

The police are highly concerned about the incident, and will take the initiative to provide information such as the officer’s recent work record and duty list, and arrange for the relevant close contacts to enter the quarantine centre for quarantine. Pending further assessment and advice from the Department of Health, police officers and civilian staff who may have close contact with the infected female patient were all arranged to undergo virus testing as instructed by the Department of Health. The police said that staff have been dispatched to clean and disinfect the relevant workplace of the infected female employee, and other staff will also be dispatched to ensure that relevant services are not affected.
