17th January 2023 – (Hong Kong) The Development Bureau and the Harbourfront Commission are presenting “Fantastic 6@Victoria Harbourfront”, a Chinese New Year programme featuring pop-up installations at six harbourfront sites. Different local artists who created the characters “Nick the Robot”, “Chocolate Rain” and “Din Dong” have been invited to design the installations.
With various New Year greeting messages as the themes, the artists have combined lighting, art and interactive games to create six unique harbourfront shared spaces dedicated to the Chinese New Year as well as Valentine’s Day. They are the Belcher Bay Promenade in Kennedy Town; HarbourChill in Wan Chai; Water Sports and Recreation Precinct in Wan Chai; Revitalised Typhoon Shelter Precinct in Causeway Bay; East Coast Park Precinct in Fortress Hill; and Tsuen Wan Promenade, sending good wishes to members of public on the festive occasions along the 8.7-kilometre-long connected promenades on Island North as well as the Tsuen Wan waterfront.
In addition, the Water Sports and Recreation Precinct (Phase 3) in Wan Chai was officially opened to the public on 30th December 2022. The site also offers a new restaurant with magnificent harbour views for the public to enjoy.
