Fans urge government to provide financial assistance to restore Bruce Lee’s former home


19th July 2019 – (Hong Kong) The Chairman of Bruce Lee Club, Wong announced today that the owner of Bruce Lee’s former home at 41 Cumberland Rd, Kowloon Tong encountered some technical issues during restoration works. He has expressed intentions to rebuild the action star’s former home and the existing building will be demolished in two weeks time.

Wong has already written an open letter to the Chief Executive, Carrie Lam and Edward Yau Tang-wah, the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of Hong Kong to request for government to provide finance assistance in restoring the residence of Bruce Lee so that it can be turned into a tourist spot. The total restoration and reconstruction costs is estimated to be around HK$50 million. Wong received a letter from the owner one week ago seeking financial assistance.
