Falling concrete damages taxi’s rear window in Shau Kei Wan with no injuries


6th December 2023 – (Hong Kong) At around 1.50pm today, a taxi driver surnamed Tam (58 years old) reported to the authorities that the rear window of their vehicle was shattered due to falling concrete from the exterior wall of a building located at 21 Kam Wa Street in Shau Kei Wan. Law enforcement officers arrived at the scene and found scattered fragments of concrete on the ground, with the largest piece measuring approximately 5 cm by 20 cm. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.

Officials from the Buildings Department were dispatched to inspect the building and observed signs of concrete deterioration on its exterior facade. However, the exact floor and location from which the concrete had fallen have yet to be determined.
