Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram crash across the world

14th March 2019 – (Hong Kong) Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram have been down worldwide since midnight in Hong Kong yesterday and Facebook has denied a malicious attack caused by DDOS attacked (distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) ). Instead, Facebook tweeted 7 hours ago that their technical team is trying to resolve the issue.

The message: “Oops… Something went wrong. We’re working on getting it fixed as soon as we can.” have been received by users across the world when they tried to upload pictures on Instagram or post a shoutout on Facebook. Selected functions are still working on the sites.

Another message users are receiving on Facebook when they try to post: “Facebook is down for required maintenance right now, but you should be able to get back on within a few minutes. In the meantime, read more about why you’re seeing this message. Thanks for your patience as we improve the site.”

Meanwhile, the alternative social media site, Tweeter is gaining stream as Facebook and Instagram go down. The hashtag #instagramdown and #facebookdown is now trending on the site.
