Extra ferry and transport arrangement for The Annual Cheung Chau Bun Festival today


12th May 2019 – (Hong Kong) The Annual Cheung Chau Bun Festival will be held today and the Hong Kong Transport Department has arranged for extra ferry service between Central and Cheung Chau to meet the demand. There will also be additional ferry service from Cheung Chau to Central after 1.15am on 13th May to facilitate visitors to go back to Hong Kong island.

The Piu Sik (Floating Colours) Parade

It is estimated that a total of 60,000 people will go in and out of Cheung Chau today. There will also be additional bus service i.e. Bus no 104R between 1.30am to 2.30am on 13th May to serve the route between Central Pier and Mongkok.

Huge crowd is expected to turn up from 10am to 12pm today as the The Piu Sik (Floating Colours) Parade starts from 2pm to 4pm later. For full details of the programme for today, click HERE.

As for the Bun Scrambling Competition scheduled from 11.30pm to 12.30am, the organiser expects a total turnout of 2,000 people. If any of the red or black signal is issued by the Hong Kong Observatory 3 hours before the competition, the event will be canceled.
