In his latest podcast, Christian Whiton said that this would be a great opportunity to put great pressure on their Chief Adversary in the world i.e President Xi and by CAUSING THIS CRISIS for the Chinese Government at the time of difficult negotiations between US and China, it is good in the national interest of the United States.

17th August 2019 – (Hong Kong) We reported on 4th August that  Jimmy Lai of the Next Media Group & his aide, Mark Simon (an ex-US navy with alleged ties to the US Central Intelligence Agency) met up with a mysterious foreign man and 7 others i.e.Martin Lee, Chairman of Democratic Party, Anson Maria Elizabeth Chan Fang On-sang who served as ex-Chief Secretary, Cardinal Joseph Zen (Trustee of 616 Humanitarian Relief Fund), legislative councillors including Alan Leong, Jeremy Jansen Tam,  Lee Wing-tat and Albert Ho for dinner at 8 1/2 Otto E Mezzo Bombana, an Italian fine dining restaurant located at Alexandra House in Central on 3rd August.

Meanwhile, a Bloomberg article in July disclosed that Trump administration officials signaled support for pro-democracy protesters in Hong Kong by granting a series of high-level meetings to Jimmy Lai. Jimmy Lai met with National Security Advisor John Bolton after meetings earlier with Vice President Mike Pence, Secretary of State Michael Pompeo and Republican Senators Ted Cruz, Cory Gardner and Rick Scott.

So who is this mysterious man? He is Christian Whiton , a national security expert who has served in multiple White House administrations. He is also a senior fellow for strategy and trade at US Center for the National Interest. He was previously a senior advisor in the George W. Bush and Donald J. Trump administrations.

In the Trump administration, Whiton was a senior advisor for strategic communications at the State Department.  He advised the new administration on public diplomacy, media, and East Asia issues.  On the presidential transition, he served as an advisor to the Secretary of State, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, and ambassadors to Israel and Japan for their Senate confirmations.

During the Bush administration, Whiton was first a speechwriter for the Under Secretary of State for Global Affairs, covering issues such as governance, science, and international law enforcement cooperation.  Subsequently, he was the Deputy Special Envoy for North Korean Human Rights Issues.  Whiton established the Office of the Special Envoy and worked to build international pressure on North Korea, including through limiting the country’s access to foreign trade and capital.  He oversaw the U.S.-India Global Issues Forum, which included trade, science, and other transnational issues.

Whiton has held communications and policy roles on several presidential campaigns, including the Giuliani (2008), Gingrich (2012), and Cruz (2016) campaigns.

He is also a Secure America Now Advisory Board member and the author of “Smart Power: Between Diplomacy and War.” The book is Whiton’s attempt to articulate a realistic defense strategy for major contemporary threats to U.S. national security, with an emphasis on using smart power, which he defines as “the neglected tools of statecraft that lie between diplomacy and outright war.” He defines the essence of ‘smart power’ as ‘peacefully shaping political outcomes in foreign countries.

Whiton makes regular appearance on Fox Business and Fox News, and has also appeared on BBC, CNBC, CNN, MSNBC, NHK, Sky News, and other networks. Click HERE for his views on the the issue of illegal immigration from Mexico in June 2019.

To further confirm that Christian Whiton and Jimmy Lai’s aide, Mark Simon are in constant contact, Christian Whiton retweeted recently Mark Simon’s tweet which says ‘If you want to know why American business got skunked in China. Meet @jmzbeijing – God this is dumb‘. James M Zimmerman @jmzbeijing is a Beijing-based American lawyer, author, and political commentator; and former four term chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in China.

James’ recent tweet on how Xi sees Trump as a paper Tiger.

In a latest article he contributed to Fox News two days ago, he said that China’s Xi is looking increasingly dazed and confused and he questioned ‘Could Hong Kong win this showdown?’ In his exact words, he said,’Worst of all for Beijing, while students and the young are the most active protesters, they are joined by Hong Kong residents from all walks of life—civil servants, bankers, flight attendants, teachers, and the like. The real crisis that events in Hong Kong pose is the question of whether Mainlanders are also poised to challenge the government. Xi likely believes he can blow past demonstrations in Hong Kong as Beijing did amid smaller protests in 2014. But that doesn’t seem to be the case: average Hong Kong residents have decided that they must defend freedom now.

His tenure is marked by internal political turmoil that will be costly and difficult to control. China’s trade scheme is at risk, as is the broader economy, and with it, the rationale for having one-party communist rule in China. It’s a cruel summer

Coincidentally on 17th June, Mark Simon also contributed an article to Fox News, a major US media/news Channel of which Christian has been appearing regularly. He glorified millions of Hong Kongers for taking it to the streets in defiance of the government to protest against the extradition bill and he ended his piece with :

Years ago newspaperman Tsang Ki-fan wrote of the genius of Hong Kong this way not long before he died. “This is the only Chinese society that, for a brief span of 100 years, lived through an ideal never realized at any time in the history of Chinese societies – a time when no man had to live in fear of the midnight knock on the door.”

Trust me, they will march every weekend if it keeps the Chinese Communist Party away from their door.

Well, it seems like Mark did predict correctly. Protests have indeed become a weekly affair since June. He has very, very good instincts.

Meanwhile, in the latest Code Red Podcast with Christian Whiton released on 16th August 2019, Christian discussed the updated situation in Hong Kong. He admitted that he was recently in Hong Kong which further corroborated his meeting with Jimmy Lai and his entourage.

He said that the majority of the Hong Kong protesters were peaceful. He further claimed that there were bankers and civil servants taking part in the protests.

He discounted China’s strategy to resort to a Tiananmen Square-style massacre with the People’s Liberation Army in a repeat of 1989. He thinks that that more probable is an invasion of Hong Kong with civilian or paramilitary police, some of whom are training next door in Shenzhen. But even this step would bring foreign condemnation, likely end free nations’ treatment of Hong Kong as a separate trade and customs entity from the Mainland, and curtail what is left of foreign investment in China.

He further quoted President Donald Trump’s tweet to urge Chinese President Xi Jinping to speak with protesters in person, ‘there would be a happy and enlightened ending to the Hong Kong problem.’

He also said that the White House was reluctant to interfere with the internal affairs of Hong Kong earlier due to the ongoing trade war and the President was more interested in economic and security affairs rather than human rights issues.

However, the U.S. administration subsequently changed their mind because Christian thought that frankly, this would be a great opportunity to put great pressure on their Chief Adversary in the world i.e President Xi and by CAUSING THIS CRISIS for the Chinese Government at the time of difficult negotiations between US and China, it is good in the national interest of the United States.

Since President Richard Nixon started their relationship with Communist China, America has closed its eyes to China’s negative actions which affected the world, specifically America. They were criticised for previously shutting down the protests in Tiananmen Square violently.

In response, he said that it is now or never for the Trump administration to get tough and change the Chinese government’s behaviour and it makes sense now to re-evaluate policies between the two. The only way to get China’s attention is to use economic power and ‘other‘ power as talks and dialogues via U.N. and WTO etc failed previously.

Christian Whiton’s tweeter account

On 15th August, Donald Trump seemingly threatened China to get the Trade Deal done, failing which it would fall into its first recession.

Donald Trump was pressuring China in a tweet on 15th August 2019.

All these seem to point to an imminent American propaganda abetted by Jimmy Lai and his gang to use the Hong Kong protests to pressurise the Chinese government into concluding the trade deal with the Trump administration. As we have shown in an earlier article, it is definitely cheaper to fund a 10% small group of frontline student protesters to cause chaos and disruptions in the city since the other 90% is genuinely aligned to their anti-Beijing agenda.

In Christian’s own words again, ‘CAUSING THIS CRISIS for the Chinese Government at the time of difficult negotiations between US and China, it is good in the national interest of the United States.

Now we know why the front line protesters are flying the American flags and singing their National Anthem.
